 Description of the design:
 The design features the statue of Laocoön and his sons, also known as the Laocoön Group, an essential work of sculpture and a masterpiece of the Vatican Museums. At the bottom center is the indication of the issuing country, "Città del VATICANO". From left to right, in a semi-circle, is the inscription "ANNO EUROPEO DEL PATRIMONIO CULTURALE". At the top right is the year of issuance, "2018", and the mint mark, "R". At the bottom right is the name of the designer, "D. LONGO". The coin's outer ring features the twelve stars of the European Union.
