Subject of the commemorative coin:
 Special 2 euro coin in honor of the 50th anniversary of Padre Pio's death.

 Description of the design:
 The design shows the right profile of a portrait of Padre Pio. At the top, from left to right, in a semi-circle, is the inscription of the issuing country “CITTÀ DEL VATICANO”. At the bottom is the inscription “Padre Pio” and to the right of it the mint mark “R”. To the left of the design is the year “1968” and to the right the year of issuance “2018”. At the bottom left is the name of the designer “P. DANIELE”. The coin’s outer ring features the twelve stars of the European Union.
