Subject of the commemorative coin:
 Special 2 euro coin in honor of the 7th World Family Day.

 Description of the design:
 The inner part of the coin depicts a family with the cathedral of Milan, the host city, in the background. The World Day of Families is held every three years to underline that the family belongs to all people: it is universal and contributes to the human element of society everywhere. The name of the event and of Vatican City, plus the year 2012, are written in Italian around the image of the family. The mintmark “R” is visible between the boy and his mother. The 12 stars of the European Union are depicted on the outer ring of the coin.
