Description of the design:
An angel is depicted in the centre of the coin. This is a detail of the painting “Il Paradiso” (“Paradise”) by Luca Signorelli in the cathedral of Orvieto, more precisely in the chapel of San Brizio. On the left is the letter “R”, the mint mark of the Mint of Rome. At the bottom left, in a semi-circle, is the name “SIGNORELLI”. On the right is the name of the issuing country “SAN MARINO” and at the top are the dates “1523 2023”. At the bottom in the centre are the initials of the author Marta Bonifacio, MB. The outer ring of the coin shows the twelve stars of the European flag.
