 Description of the design:
 The design shows a portrait of the poet. At the right and in semi-circle the dates ‘1616-2016’ and the name of the issuing country ‘San Marino’; at the bottom right, the initials of the designer ‘MB’. At the left and in semi-circle, the inscription ‘William Shakespeare’; at the bottom left, the mint mark ‘R’. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European Union.
