 Description of the design:
 In the foreground, on the left, is the portrait of David, a detail of the bronze statue made by Donatello. At the top centre, the mint mark “R”; at the right, the indication of the issuing country “SAN MARINO”; at the bottom right, the inscription “Donatello”, the dates “1466-2016” and, in the centre, the artist’s initials “MB”. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European Union.
