 Description of the design:
 The coin features a cork oak (Quercus Suber) in the centre. Below the lower branches, to the left of the tree trunk, is the coat of arms of Portugal and to the right, the word “PORTUGAL”, divided over three lines. Below the tree, along the bottom of the inner part of the coin, in an arc, are the signature of the designer (I. Vilar), the year of issuance (2007), the mint mark (INCM) and the inscription “PRESIDÊNCIA DO CONSELHO DA UE”. The 12 stars of the European Union are positioned along the outer ring of the coin.
