 Description:
 The central part of the coin features a portrait of Lucianus GRIMALDI I, seen from the left in profile. Above the portrait, in an arc along the upper part of the central part of the coin, are the words “SOUVERAINETE DE MONACO”, flanked by the dates “1512” and “2012”. Two decorative details are engraved at the beginning and end of the words. At the bottom, to the left of the portrait, the cornucopia, the mint mark of the Monnaie de Paris, and to the right of the portrait, the “fleurette”, the mark of the engraving workshop, can be seen. Above the mint mark is the inscription “Lucien I er ”. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the flag of the European Union.
