Subject of the commemorative coin:
 225th anniversary of the arrival of the French in Malta

 Description:
 The effigy shows a personification of the French Republic as it appeared on official letterheads of the time. On the left, in semi-circle, is the inscription “225th ANNIVERSARY”, followed by the inscription “ARRIVAL OF THE FRENCH IN MALTA”. At the bottom, the year of issue “2023” is inscribed. To the left and right of the effigy are the inscriptions “Liberté” (“Freedom”) and “Egalité” (“Equality”) respectively. Above the inscription “Egalité” are the years “1798-2023”. The coin’s outer ring depicts the twelve stars of the European flag.
