Subject of the commemorative coin:
 Solidarity through love
 (first in the 'By children with solidarity' series)

 Description of the design:
 This coin aims to commemorate the social role of the Malta Community Chest Fund through the “From Children in Solidarity” programme for secondary school students. This programme identifies the social role of children in five different sectors, the first theme being “Solidarity through Love”. The design was created by secondary school student Sarah Cilia, who has depicted this theme by two hands forming a heart shape with the Maltese flag visible. The inscription “MALTA 2016” appears below the design. Two stylised representations of human bodies are visible on the left and right wrists. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European Union.
