Subject of the commemorative coin:
Latgalian ceramics

Description of the design:
The coin is dedicated to Latgalian pottery. Traditional pottery developed over a long period of time in two districts — Latgale and Kurzume — but it has only been passed on to the next generations and thus survived in Latgale. Latgalian pottery is also part of the Latvian cultural canon. The design depicts a clay candlestick, a typical piece of Latgalian pottery. It also features the inscription “LATGALES KERAMIKA” (Latgalian pottery), the name of the country “LATVIJA” and the year of issuance “2020”. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
