 In the centre, a man and a woman in medical uniforms are depicted, wearing masks, a stethoscope and carrying a medical file: they are doctors and nurses who, with their work, are on the front line in the fight against COVID-19. At the top, the word “GRAZIE”, followed, on the right, by the symbol of a heart; on the left, the medical cross is displayed; in the centre, “RI”, the acronym of the Italian Republic; on the right, “R”, the mint mark of the Mint of Rome; at the bottom left, “CM”, the initials of the designer Claudia Momoni; in exergue, the year of the coin’s issuance, “2021”. The coin’s outer ring depicts the twelve stars of the European flag.
