Subject of the commemorative coin:
 250th anniversary of the creation of the Guardia di Finanza Corps

 Description:
 The centre of the coin features a stylised version of the heraldic symbol of the Guardia di Finanza Army Corps. It represents the concept of security and the Corps’ vision of the future, which celebrates its past, while also looking to the years to come and the challenges it will continue to address. This emblem is made up of several elements: a mountain, the sea and the sky, which are the natural environments in which the Corps operates. It also features the griffin, a mythological animal that, according to legend, guards treasures, here represented as a treasure chest, together with a crown decorated with towers. At the top, in a semi-circle, is the inscription “GUARDIA DI FINANZA”. At the bottom are “RI”, the acronym for Italy, and the dates “1774-2024”, the year of the foundation of the Guardia di Finanza Corps and the year of the coin’s issue. On the right, “R” stands for the Mint of Rome and “MB”, the initials of the designer Marta Bonifacio. The outer ring of the coin depicts the twelve stars of the European flag.
