 Description of the design:
 The image is a reinterpretation of the sculpture “Pattuglia di Carabinieri nella tormenta” by Antonio Berti from 1973. To the right, overlapping, are the letters “RI”, the monogram of the Italian Republic, and the year 2014, while to the left is the year 1814. At the top is the letter R (monogram of the Roman Mint) and in the exergue are “LDS” (monogram of the designer, Luciana De Simoni) and “CARABINIERI”. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
