Stage masks representing two characters from the New Comedy: the young woman and the slave, after a mosaic from the 2nd century AD (Rome, Capitoline Museums), surrounded by the plan of a Roman theatre and the logo of the Italian Republic “RI”, with “R” on the left and “LDS” on the right, the initials of the designer Luciana De Simoni; at the bottom “184 a. C.” (184 BC), “2016” and “PLAUTO” (Plautus). The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
