 50th anniversary of the restoration of democracy in Greece

 Description:
 The design features the Greek Parliament Building surrounded by the words “50 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΜΕΤΑΠΟΛΙΤΕΥΣΗ” (“50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RESTORATION OF DEMOCRACY IN GREECE”) and “ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ” (“HELLENIC REPUBLIC”). Below them is a palmette (mint mark of the Greek Mint). The fall of the Colonels’ regime on 24 July 1974 heralded the restoration of democracy in Greece after seven years of dictatorship. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
