 XIII "Special Olympics" Summer Games in Athens

 Description of the design:
 The inner part of the coin shows the emblem of the Games, a radiant sun, the source of life that underlines the excellence and strength of the athlete participating in the Games. Excellence is represented by the olive branch and strength by the spiral shape that starts from the center of the sun. The inscription “XIII SPECIAL OLYMPICS WSG ATHENS 2011” and the name of the issuing country are located along the right outer edge of the inner part. The mint mark is located between them. The coin’s outer ring features the 12 stars of the European Union.
