In the background, a Tiare flower symbolizes the island of Tahiti, where the surfing competitions will take place. The Eiffel Tower is in motion, embodying the values of sport. Its arms are made up of 73 rivets representing the host communities. For the first time, the Olympic and Paralympic symbols are depicted together to celebrate the Games for all. The athletics track features the year, the issuing country designation “RF” and the mint marks. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
