His works, such as The Thinker, The Kiss, The Gates of Hell or The Burghers of Calais, remain timeless masterpieces of sculpture. The design shows Auguste Rodin and The Thinker, his most famous work, facing each other. The letters RF, for République Française, are sculpted at the top of the coin. The artist's name "A. Rodin" and his year of death and birthday "1917-2017" are inscribed in his beard. The coin's outer ring features the twelve stars of the European flag.
