Subject of the commemorative coin:
 100th birthday of Väinö Linna

 Description of the design:
 The coin honours the late Finnish author Väinö Linna, who would have turned 100 in 2020. The design refers to Linna’s job in a textile factory and, apart from his face, shows letters that weave the words in his books like threads. On the left side is the inscription VÄINÖ LINNA. At the bottom is the year of issuance, “2020”, the issuing country, “FI”, and the mint mark. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
