Description:

The inner part of the coin features the Maulbronn Monastery, the best-preserved medieval monastery complex north of the Alps. Founded in 1147, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. The year of issuance is at the top: “2013”. At the bottom is the inscription BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG and below that the name of the issuing country: “D”. The mint mark, represented by the letters A, D, F, G or J, is at the right. At the bottom left are the artist’s initials. The coin’s outer ring features the twelve stars of the European flag.
