 Description of the design:
 The inside of the effigy features the portrait of the famous Flemish artist Jan van Eyck, together with his signature and a painter's palette with the initials LL, referring to the designer of the coin, Mr. Luc Luycx, and two brushes. Above that is the name J. van Eyck. Because the Royal Dutch Mint will strike the coins, the mint mark of Utrecht, the staff of Mercury, is at the bottom together with the Belgian mint master's mark, the coat of arms of the municipality of Herzele. The country code BE and the year 2020 are on the right. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
