 According to legend, Emperor Charlemagne founded Andorra in the year 805 and granted the Andorrans their own legal status. The design depicts this legend, which is deeply rooted in Andorran history and culture, and shows a mountain and river landscape in the background, symbolising the country’s natural beauty, with the name of the issuing country “ANDORRA” above it. In the foreground is a partial reproduction of the famous portrait of Charlemagne by artist Albrecht Dürer, with the year of issuance “2022” next to it.
